2008 Community Banking Week

April 7 - 11, 2008

April is Community Banking Month! We are excited, and we hope you are too, to get the word out about community banking in Pennsylvania. With community banks facing so many challenges, from unfair competition with the credit unions to threats of Wal-Mart type banks coming into our communities, now more than ever we need to pull together to show everyone why community banks really are the best.

This year’s theme, “Community Banking: Where Tradition & Innovation Meet” highlights what truly differentiates community banks from all the rest. Let this theme resonate in all your local celebrations by featuring the pride you have in your community and its people.

Concentrated activities across the Commonwealth in the form of Community Banking Week have been scheduled for April 7-11. Please make a point to take this week to reach out to as many individuals and groups as possible. This is your opportunity to inform everyone about all the great things you as a community bank do for the community. So go all out!

We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to share your love of community banking. Be sure to include your entire organization in your festivities, invite the media to participate, and take lots of pictures of all your events and activities. Then, don’t forget to enter PACB’s “Best-of-the-Best” Contest.

Below you will find everything you need for planning your celebration activities. Good luck and have fun!
