PACB Memo to PA Congressional Delegation
To: Members of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation
From: Frank A. Pinto, President/CEO
Subject: Co-sponsorship Request - H.R. 2061
Date: June 13, 2005
In follow up to my earlier memo of May 4th and various other communications we have had with your offices, PACB urges you to consider co-sponsoring the “Communities First” legislation, H.R. 2061.
This bi-partisan legislation enjoys the support so far of 31 of your colleagues including Congresswoman Melissa Hart and Congressman Tim Holden. This legislation is a top priority for our association and we believe it is significant that 35 state trade associations from across the country have endorsed H.R. 2061 along with the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA).
Strong support exists within our industry for H.R. 2061 and its components and I have attached a summary prepared by ICBA of its provisions along with the list of state associations that have endorsed this legislation.
Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact PACB or ICBA. The contact in Rep. Jim Ryun’s office is Nathanael Bennett who may be reached at 202-225-2601.
Thanks for your consideration and we hope you will join your colleagues Melissa Hart and Tim Holden in co-sponsoring H.R. 2061.
