Subject: Support for SBA 7 (a) Loan Program Appropriation

Date: November 7, 2005

On behalf of the PACB Board of Directors, I am writing to urge our Senate and House delegation to preserve the $79 million appropriation for the Small Business Administration’s 7 (a) loan program. This amount has been included in the House-passed Commerce-Justice-State appropriation but not in the Senate version. It is critical that this funding level be maintained in the final appropriation to help preserve the SBA 7 (a) loan program and help to keep the fees lenders and borrowers already pay for SBA loans from rising even further.

I cannot stress enough how important this program is to community banks and the customers and businesses we serve.
