Community Banker Alert

To: PACB Members

From: Frank A. Pinto, President/CEO

Subject: Interchange Grassroots Campaign

Date: June 9, 2010

As you know, the Senate version of the financial services reform bill contains catastrophic language that will completely upend the current interchange system. Currently, a letter is being circulated by Reps. Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and Marchant (R-TX). The letter, which will be sent to House members of the conference committee on Wall Street reform legislation, calls for the harmful interchange fee language adopted by the Senate to be dropped from the final bill because of a) the harm to consumers and b) the harm to community banks. The link to the letter below contains all of the contact info that your Congressman will need if he or she would like to sign on to the Wasserman Schultz-Marchant letter.

Please take just a few moments to follow the link below to send a letter (and make a phone call, too!). As the conference committee process moves forward next week, there will be an advocacy showdown between the community bankers and the retailers. We need every community banker to be heard!
