With donations to organizations including fire departments, churches, libraries, schools, food banks, and other charities and community events, it is no surprise that The Scottdale Bank & Trust Company has been recognized for outstanding community service. Earlier this year, the bank was presented the Eberly Economic Development Award by Fay-Penn Economic Development Council. The award is given to philanthropic companies that demonstrate a commitment to Fayette County and significantly fund economic development of the area in the spirit of the Eberly family, for whom the award is named.
Overall, Scottdale Bank finds success from being community-minded. They also have a strong focus on the importance of educating children in the community. Trust Officer Marilyn Andras stated, “It’s important for us to work with the students now, because they’re our future.” Scottdale Bank has found several ways to fund educational programs for local youth.
