FHLB of Pittsburgh PACB membership candidates  

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh director election is underway.

There are two open Pennsylvania member directorships. The two candidates who receive the most votes will serve on the FHLB Board of Directors for a four-year term, starting on Jan. 1, 2025. 

Pennsylvania FHLB members can vote for no more than two candidates. The annual election will close on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

Below are the three PACB members competing this year.
Janak Amin
Picture
Janak Amin is president and CEO of Presence Bank. 
Janak leads his team with values-driven principles he has cultivated throughout two decades of executive leadership experience in the banking industry in Pennsylvania and Florida. A graduate of the Wharton School Advanced Business Management Program, Janak received his bachelor's degree accounting, business management, and economics from the University of Liverpool and his master's degree in business administration from the Pennsylvania State University. Janak has served on the boards of Holy Spirit Hospital, Harrisburg Symphony, Susquehanna Art Museum, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Central PA, and as board chairman of the Hindu American Religious Institute. He resides in Exton with his wife, Alka, and their two daughters. 
Charles Crawford, Jr.

Charles (Charlie) Crawford is president & CEO of Hyperion Bank.
​A champion of community banking for 30+ years, Charlie also is board chair (2024-2025) of PACB and previously served as vice chair. He has also served on PACB's Diversity Task Force & was PACB’s 2022 Banker of the Year.
Charlie joined the bank in August 2017 and in 2018 led a significant recapitalization. Hyperion Bank made the 2024 Inc. 5000, recognizing fastest-growing companies, and Philadelphia Business Journal's “Fast 50,” the region’s fastest-growing businesses. Charlie previously founded three thriving community banks. Charlie holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business and earned his master's in business administration from Georgia State University.
He is a graduate of the LSU School of Banking and Leadership Atlanta. Charlie serves on the advisory board for the Fischer-Shain Center for Financial Services in the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Charlie also is a teacher in Georgia State’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Institute, part of the Robinson College of Business.
Brendan McGill

Brendan McGill currently serves as chair of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh and is president and CEO of Harleysville Bank.
Brendan has served on the board of directors for PACB and the PACB Services Board. He has served in various leadership positions for over 25 years at Harleysville Bank and has served as the institution’s president since 2014.
He also is a member of both the Insured Financial Institutions of the Delaware Valley and the Financial Managers Association of Philadelphia. Brendan has served on the boards of North Penn United Way, the Spruce Lake Retreat, and the Lutheran Community at Telford.
​He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from LaSalle University.
