Our primary national advocacy event for PACB members is the annual ICBA Capital Summit, which will be held May 12-15 in Washington, D.C.

This event is packed with informative sessions presented by the ICBA team, as well as visits with congressional members on Capitol Hill. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to amplify the voice of community banking!

PAST ADVOCACY EVENTS

2025 Agriculture Roundtable
PACB was part of a busy and productive agriculture roundtable on April 14 in Lancaster County with several community bank representatives and PA congressional members at the Bank of Bird-in-Hand.

Participants included PA U.S. Senator David McCormick, PA U.S. Representatives Dan Meuser and Lloyd Smucker, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, PACB President and CEO Kevin Shivers, the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, and representatives from several community banks in the region.

Among the items discussed included two measures pending action in Washington, D.C. – the Access to Credit for our Rural Economy (ACRE) Act, which would extend low cost credit to rural communities, and the Farm Bill, which would provide sufficient funding for upgraded technology, maintain a strong crop insurance program, ensure community bank access to all credit programs, and require federal agencies to implement regulations fairly while also reducing regulatory burdens on agribusinesses.

2025 PACB Advocacy Day
Several community bank representatives joined PACB staff at the state Capitol in Harrisburg on March 24 and 25 to meet directly with state policymakers and stakeholders in Harrisburg to share the community banking story, advocate for policies which benefit the industry, and educate lawmakers on potentially harmful proposals.

Roundtable with PA Sen. Pat Toomey
PACB was an integral part of the June 28, 2021 joint event with the PBA for a roundtable with PA Sen. Pat Toomey, in Hershey, PA.
Discussions centered on ILC's, the Durbin Amendment for credit cards, and the proposed bank account reporting from the Biden administration, along with the current economic condition of the Commonwealth and the nation.
